If you have type 2 diabetes there are a few things you should know.
Diabetics are two to four times more likely to develop heart
disease, and approximately 1/3 will develop kidney disease. Additionally, diabetics with heart and kidney disease
have higher mortality rates.
A clinical study is under way to test the effectiveness of an investigational drug in reducing heart

Researchers for this study seek participants who:
- Are at least 35 years of age or older
- Have a confirmed diagnosis of type 2 diabetes
- Have persistent kidney problems OR a history of heart disease
