The purpose of this clinical trial is to find out if the drug omalizumab (Xolair®) has beneficial effects on the airways in people who have moderate to severe allergic asthma. Xolair® has been approved in the European Union and by the U.S Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of persistent allergic asthma.

Persistent Allergic Asthma Trial CIGE025AUS33

The purpose of this clinical research study is to determine if the drug omalizumab (Xolair®) has safe and helpful effects in people who have inadequately controlled persistent allergic asthma. This study is a double-blind placebo study. It is important to note, you may receive omalizumab (Xolair®) OR a placebo (a dummy drug with no active ingredients). Xolair® is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of allergic asthma in adults and adolescents 12 years of age and older and is already available for sale in the United States.

COPD "INTRUST-2" Study CQAB149B2351

The purpose of this clinical trial is to determine the benefits and safety of the combined treatment indacaterol and tiotropium (Spiriva®) in patients with COPD, compared to taking tiotropium (Spiriva®) alone. An “investigational drug” is a drug that is being tested and is not approved for sale in the United States by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
