Cold Sores

Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus--one of the same family of viruses that causes chicken pox and mononucleosis. Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) usually causes cold sores or oral herpes on the face and mouth.

Novartis is seeking people to participate in a clinical trial(s) testing the safety and effectiveness of Novartis products. Novartis recommends that you consult your doctor before participating in a clinical trial.

Adolescent Cold Sores Study CFAM810B2305

The purpose of this study is to collect safety information and to measure the effectiveness of a study drug for reducing recurring cold sores in adolescent patients. This study drug is a medicine which is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the treatment of ONLY adults with cold sores.
Trial phase: Phase 3
Participation Duration: Participants will be required to visit the study center at least 2 times over the duration of approximately 5 weeks.
